For the next six hours, you will navigate uneven rocks, cross the dry riverbed, and pass through ancient pine forests where the endemic Kri-Kri goats roam. The physical climax of the route is the "Iron Gates" (Sideroportes), a narrow passage where vertical rock walls rise 300 meters high but sit only three meters apart. Emerging from the gorge, the sight of the Libyan Sea at Agia Roumeli is your ultimate finish line.
